Overall she seems like a motherly person, perhaps because she is a mother. But she is very confident in herself in the present, thinks of her own best and only of her own interests. She keeps her things private to ensure a problem free life. Thinks very highly of herself, thus everyone who isn't of higher status than her, means nothing to her. The more wealth, strength and confidence you have, the bigger your chances are for her to show some respect or interest for you.
It's not the smallest things that get her to feel irritation, honestly, you have to really hit the right spot to get her to fall for your play, to sincerely react. But as long as no one is disturbing her life, she will remain smiling and sharing lovely smiles and laughter.

With the past of being born to a family of samurais but being unable to fulfill that future for herself, it was easy for a teen like her to fall for a man who was taking upon that path instead.

Ah, teenagers.

Ah, young love.

    Manami was always a girl who only went for what she wanted and got it, there was no such option as her not getting what she wanted. She was a spoiled child cause of this way of demanding so many things and getting them in the end. And as she grew to feel attracted for a young samurai and placed her goals on getting that man for herself, the girl eventually succeeded. And she got him.
It was all truly a rush, with such young heart in love, she managed to manipulate both of their parents to agree for their marriage.
She was still just a young woman when she married the man, and having not matured entirely emotionally, her feelings led her on in life a long way.
Jealousy, for instance, was one of her strongest emotions to affect the decisions she took in her life. This emotion started it's reign over her actions a while before her marriage with the man was even tied, see, the two of them had a shared secret. The samurai, had taken a boy under his wing to raise. From the beginning, Manami had not accepted this. But because of her great desire to have this man for herself, she couldn't give up and thus chained the man down with marriage, to be hers truly and make herself a greater importance to her husband than the kid was.  Yet it didn't seem like marriage was enough to gain the affection and adoration she wished of her husband. She started to pursue the man with the idea of having a child of their own.
    It didn't seem to work at first though, the man certainly didn't feel like making a child of his own what with still working as a samurai himself and already having one child to carry responsibility for. This displeased the young woman greatly, jealousy grew in her heart over such a innocent thing as a child. She couldn't help but be disgusted every time she laid her eyes on the dark toned child with black hair...This...bastard of a unknown woman... How was this child more important to her husband then her, or getting a child of their own. She didn't like it at all, and couldn't understand it to begin with. Being as bitter about it as she was, soon enough she started making more moves towards getting back at his husband for what seemed wrong in her eyes. Through family relations she found out about a family business that offered their children for special healing services. At first, Manami paid no interest to this, but since later that year her husband grew more mentally unstable and had to give up his job as a samurai, the cunning wife figured she needed the aid to help his husband's case. She was no psychiatric herself, and since her parents suggested the option of hiring one of the members from the family of healers, she caught the bait and a meeting with the healer family's head was arranged.

    And what do you know, she hired herself a beautiful, pale pink child, only 5 years old. The golduck had to wonder what could a child this young be able to do, but the parents of the healers' family assured it was all going to be fine, as they would get to pay a few visits every now and then to finish the child's training as he'd grow older. So as the deal was made, Manami brought her new young servant to the house, introducing the small boy to her husband as Minoru, their personal healer who will be staying with them from now on. Thus, thinking she had just equalized their relationship by having a 'adopted' child of her own as her husband had this child named..Katsuo.
The husband had little to say on the matter, whatever would make his wife happier and stop bothering the houndour child, was better. Despite how much Manami started to enjoy taking care of Minoru, like he was her own child, the dull reaction her husband had had to this decision, bothered her. Why wasn't her husband as bothered by this introduction as she had been with finding out about Katsuo..? Did he not love her?
    The doubt rose in her chest and made her feel uncertain about the whole relationship she had with her husband. What had been young love, became a mindless desire to control her husband, without feeling the same kinda of pure love anymore. Despite having two children in their home already and her husband having a growing problem with alcohol, she returned to pursuing him into having their own child. One that she'd give birth to. And finally, he bent to her will on the case.

    A child was born! And a son at that, what better fortune could you ask for. Wasn't it a blessing to have a baby boy, hm? Well, the once a strong samurai certainly thought it was great to have a son. But Manami was tired of it, even if it was a child of her own...she had wished to have a daughter. Perhaps it was wrong of her to think so, since after this there were no more kids to be made, the husband made that clear to Manami, and thanks to this final decision, Manami preferred Minoru over her own child through the years that came.
She made sure Minoru did a splendid job about doing his job on healing the husband's mind through days and nights, while keeping her biological son nutritioned and growing to a healthy child...Except for maybe getting neglected more by her mother than was good for a kid's self-esteem. So...Manami basically left her son to be entertained by a young Katsuo and the occasionally awake husband. This type of life went on for few years, until' Manami took Minoru with her to go on a trip to finish the young healer's training properly. Since she was considered to be Minoru's owner, it was required for her to be there for the time period of the training, and claim the title as the munna's master. THIS...took about two years again. And as the now 22 years old Manami returned with her well trained, 10 years old Minoru, her husband seemed to have become momentarily healthier! OR so it seemed at least. The man had become a fisherman and every day took the houndour boy and his own son to work with him. Apparently the man was good enough in his job to be able to watch the kids along his co-workers. What a husband to admire, certainly. Manami felt charmed by the sight of his husband being so caring...If only he cared about her the same way! The bitterness grew, but somehow she didn't show it anymore? It was as if those two years away, being with Minoru in training, had changed her. But to whatever direction, was a mystery.

Upon having returned, things started to return to how they had been before. Minoru returned to taking care of the man of the house, Manami remaining as the gorgeous housewife...And the two other boys just being boys, playing with eachother, bullying eachother...
And for some reason, despite all efforts, Manami's husband became bedridden by depression. Manami had the munna stay more and more hours, days even, behind shut doors to better help the poor head of the Akahoshis... But it was like things were only becoming worse. Nobody knew why this was, why things got worse when they were trying to get better...But a day came, when Manami's husband left the room and informed the lovely golduck that he was going to leave the house for a while, with Katsuo. Saying it was a business trip and it would be best if he took the bastard son with him, to spare Manami from the burden. Manami approved of this idea, and as this agreement had come to, the woman along with her son and Minoru, were left alone in the house.

During this time, Manami's son, Yuuma...through mysterious events fell into a long coma. One would imagine that a mother would stay by their child's side, but instead. Manami, as the person she had become, Took this opportunity and hired another trusted companion of hers to keep looking after the unconscious child while taking herself on another long journey with Minoru. She traveled a long while, and those years are still a mystery to many people, but apparently she picked up the job as a matchmaker during this trip from village to another, gathering herself business partners and more connections, wealth, friends... Along with teaching Minoru a thing or few more.

She paid a short return to the place she supposed was her home, checking on her son who had grown during his coma. Events led to another, Manami let Minoru leave her care, to go on independent travels.
Then, her husband returned with Katsuo. They had both aged, and the man she had married had become weak and sick. Apathetic and increasingly depressed...which got him bedridden again. And this time, Because Minoru wasn't there, Manami took care of her husband with her other healer friend. In the meantime her son and the houndour kid seemed to not get along as well as they used to, and the time that Manami witnessed Katsuo bullying Yuuma more than she'd allow, the woman finally banished the houndour from their house. Something she should've done ages ago. And her husband wasn't in any state to be there to object this decision, so the dark boy left.

Some sort of peace returned to the house, Manami focused on spending time with her husband and son. At least it was so for a year. Then Manami left the house herself, for whatever reason deeming her job to be done here. As if she knew something was coming. She never returned after this departing. She only took the other healer with her and disappeared from the face of the earth, at least from the people who knew her.

It's been long enough, and since she keeps her business private enough, not many questions about her past have made it to her ears. She has no awareness of where her son is, but she sure is aware of her husband having passed away. Some little birds have told her that her home was also burned down for whatever reason, so she really couldn't go back to that place now could she! Thus she remains in her new homebase, working her business alongside her faithful helpers.
